For more than 20 years, Ms Alfred has dedicated her career to helping women look and feel their absolute best. As a Licensed Cosmetologist, she has worked with thousands of clients, developing extensive expertise in healthy hair, corrective hair care, luxury extensions, and scalp health. That experience at the forefront of the beauty industry inspired a deeper pursuit of the science behind hair loss and skin health.

Driven by a passion for evidence-based care, she became Dominica's only Certified Trichologist, combining advanced knowledge of hair and scalp disorders with years of practical experience to provide specialized solutions for women experiencing hair loss and scalp conditions.

Her commitment to lifelong learning led her into medicine, where she is currently completing her medical training (MD) while pursuing a career in dermatology with a special interest in hair restoration, regenerative medicine, skin-of-color dermatology, and medical aesthetics.

Today, Sherma is also actively involved in hair restoration research, with a growing focus on conditions that disproportionately affect Afro-Caribbean women, including Traction Alopecia, Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA), Lichen Planopilaris (LPP), and other inflammatory hair disorders.

Her goal is to contribute meaningful research that improves diagnosis, treatment, and long-term outcomes for textured hair populations.

As the founder of Waitukai, Caribbean Beauty Salon, and Trinovera Medical & Aesthetic Clinic, Sherma is redefining beauty and wellness in the Caribbean by integrating luxury client experiences with medical science.

Her vision is to make advanced hair restoration, regenerative aesthetics, and physician-guided wellness accessible to the region while positioning Dominica as a destination for innovation in aesthetic medicine and medical tourism.

Whether caring for a client in the salon, treating a patient in the clinic, or contributing to research, she believes every individual deserves personalized, compassionate, and scientifically grounded care.
